This research was supervised by Mr. Dr. Umar Fauzan, M.Pd as the first advisor and Mrs. Dini Irawati, M.Pd as the second advisor. Motivation is important in learning a language, including English, without motivation a person will not have the desire or enthusiasm for learning which can affect their learning success. The objectives of this research were to find out the level of students' motivation in learning English at SMKN 4 Samarinda. The design of this research is quantitative research. Researcher analyzed the data using the mean score. The instrument used in this research is a questionnaire. Researcher use closed questions to collect data. Researcher used 50 questions with 5 Likert scale choices. The population and sample in this study were students in class X PH and X AKL 3 at SMKN 4 Samarinda. There were 50 students in this study. Based on the results of this study, the researcher found that the students had a moderate degree of motivation in learning English. The data shows that in the student motivation questionnaire, 49 students have moderate motivation and 1 student has high motivation. Based on the findings, the mean of student motivation is 3.17. It can be concluded that students' motivation in learning English belongs to the moderate category.
