This research is based on code-mixing and code-switching, which investigate the link between language and society, are common in films depicting facets of human existence. These linguistic strategies can be found in both everyday encounters and film representations. The purpose of the research is to determine the languages involved in code- switching and code-mixing in the film "Negeri 5 Menara" and to investigate the factors influencing these language shifts. Understanding these occurrences and causes sheds light on the complicated dynamics of language use in many social contexts. The research is qualitative research. Data analysis was descriptive qualitatif analyzes dialogue from movie identifying code-mixing and code-switching events using a sociolinguistic approach and qualitative research methods. The variables that influenced these language transitions are also investigated. The findings indicate the language involved that code-switching occurs between; code-switching between Indonesian and Arabic, Indonesian and English, Bataknese, Minangkabaunese, and Javanese. The code-mixing are; code-mixing between Indonesian and Sundanese, Javanese, Makassar, Arabic, and English. Language shift motivations are related to speaker manner, the participants, the aims of the speaker, and the speaker's situation, other causes come from micro and macro sociolinguistics. And the factors that cause code-switching and code-mixing in Negeri Five movie are social factors, Participanct relationship, referential factors, solidarity social distance scale, extra linguistic factors.
