<note>Danie Ahmad Cahyadi, 2023. The English Teacher Readiness in Implementing The Independent Curriculum at SMP Negeri 3 Samarinda in Academic Year of 2023/2024. Thesis, English Tadris Study Program, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, Sultan Aji Muhammad Idris State Islamic University Samarinda. This research was under the guidance of (1) Mrs. Rostanti Toba, M. Pd. as first supervisor and (2) Mrs. Dini Irawati, M.Pd. as second supervisor. Curriculum and learning is an important part of the education system. Every educator and education staff, apart from mastering technical skills relevant to their duties, must also have a conceptual understanding of curriculum and learning, including the ability to develop curriculum in schools. The independent curriculum is considered suitable for the current digital era, this is because in this era technology is very advanced and this means that technology currently has a strong role in all activities and one of these activities is in the world of education. The objectives of this research is to find out the readiness of English teachers in implementing an independent curriculum at SMPN 3 Samarinda, and to find out the students in facing the independent curriculum at SMPN 3 Samarinda. The design of this research is descriptive qualitative. The subjects of this research were Vice Principal for Curriculum and one English teacher at SMPN 36 Samarinda. The instruments in this research are interview guidelines, observation sheets, and documentation. Data analysis techniques use data condensation, source triangulation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the research findings show that the readiness of English teachers in facing the independent curriculum is said to be sufficient regarding understanding of the independent curriculum and its application in learning. and for students the independent curriculum can provide increased abilities for students.</note>
