Department of English Education. Samarinda State Islamic Institute. This research was supervised by Dina Destari, M.Pd as the first supervisor and Dini Irawati, M.Pd as the second supervisor. The challenge in writing for students is the fear that exists in students, because they feel that their writing looks bad. Writing is one of the four language skills, writing is also considered a form of delivering messages in writing so that people who read it can understand the message to be conveyed by the author. Writing a narrative text is the same as writing a series of stories involving characters from a past event. In this study, the researcher examines what difficulties students face when learning to write narrative texts and what solutions are given to students to understand writing narrative texts.The purpose of this study is to find out students' difficulties in writing narrative texts and to find out students' solutions in writing narrative texts. The method used in this research is Descriptive Qualitativ. In addition, the instruments used in this research are observation, interviews, documentation and student grades. data collection through interview answers, observation results and analysis and analysis during English language learning. The subjects of this research were eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 7 Samarinda. With 10 students and 2 teachers as respondents. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that students tend to learn faster when the teacher explains the material using the mini games method.mini games method. And also watch movies, or see stories in legends or fiction on youtube. This research shows that by integrating media such as novels, movies, and mini games into teaching methods, students can more easily understand and express their ideas in the form of understand and express their ideas in the form of narrative text. This approach can also increase students' interest and motivation in learning activities, as they can enjoy a more interactive and can enjoy a more interactive and fun learning process.</note>
