Thesis, Language Education Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, State Islamic University Sultan Aji Muhammad Idris Samarinda. This research was supervised by Dina Destari, S.S., M.Pd as the first supervisor and Anis Komariah, M.Pd as the second supervisor. English serves as the primary language of instruction in many prestigious universities and educational institutions globally, playing a crucial role in education, business, and technology. In Indonesia, mastering English is essential for enhancing academic and professional opportunities, making early learning at the primary school level vital for building a strong foundation. This research employed a qualitative descriptive method to explore the learning needs of fifth-grade students at MI Ar-Raudhah in Samarinda, focusing specifically on class 5C, which was selected through random sampling. Data were collected through interviews and documentation involving 12 students and their English teacher. Analysis followed the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model, ensuring validity through triangulation of sources and time. The research found that students recognized the importance of learning English, although they faced challenges in writing, speaking, and comprehension. Interactive methods such as songs and games significantly enhanced their motivation and engagement. To create an effective learning program, it is crucial to incorporate these interactive methods and engaging materials, ensuring the English curriculum meets students' needs effectively.
