This research is under the guidance of Dr. Umar Fauzan, M. Pd., as the first advisor and Dina Destari, S.S, M. Pd., as the second advisor.
Commissive is an utterance that expressed by humans in communication to show the emotions or feelings with other people. It can be written or spoken forms. Commissive has an intended meaning based on the context of situation that produced by the speaker to the hearer. Therefore, utterances must be occurred in a movie because there are interactions between one character with another. In light of this occurrence, the researcher decided to find out the types and the intended meanings of commissive used by the main character in the movie Aquaman.
This research used descriptive qualitative method. The instrument used in this research was the researcher itself. The data and source of data were the main character  performed  the  types  of commissive  illocutionary  acts  in  the  movie Aquaman. The data were collected by watching the movie Aquaman that had been downloaded from the internet. The data was analyzed by using data condensation, data display and conclusion drawing/verification.
The results of this research showed that there were 5 types of commissive illocutionary acts that performed by the main character in the movie Aquaman such as threaten, accept, refusal, promise, and offer. The frequency of the types of commissive was threaten 2 data, accept 25 data, refusal 41 data, promise 2 data, and the last was offer 1 data. The most dominant used by the main character was refusal.  The  intended  meaning  of each  type  of commissive  illocutionary acts occurred based on field, tenor, mode of the context of situations that performed by the main character in the movie Aquaman.</note>
