Arabic speaking ability is an important skill that must be mastered by students. However, traditional learning methods are often less effective in improving active speaking skills. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the effect of the role-playing method on improving Arabic speaking skills of students at SMP Salsabila Samaranda. This study used a quasi-experimental approach with a non-equivalent control group design. The sample consisted of two groups, namely the experimental group using the role-playing method and the control group with the traditional method, each consisting of 15 students. Measurements were carried out using a Speaking Test that included aspects of fluency, vocabulary, pronunciation, and comprehension. The results of the data analysis showed that the role-playing method provided very significant effectiveness in improving students' speaking skills. The Mann-Whitney test produced a significance value of 0.00 (<0.05), so H₀ was rejected and Hₐ was accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the role-playing method is effective in improving students' Arabic speaking skills. Keywords: role-playing, speaking skills, Arabic
