Aspianur, 2020. “Teaching Speaking at The Third Grade of SMA Madina Citra Insani Samarinda.” S1 Thesis, study program of English Education Department, Teacher Training and Tarbiyah Faculty, State Islamic Institute of Samarinda. This Research is under guidance of Mohamad Muklis, M.Hum as the first advisor and Dra. Sitti Hadijah, M.Pd as the second advisor. This study was aimed describing how is the teaching-learning of speaking to XII grade student SMA Madina Citra Insani Samarinda, describing the problem faced by the teacher, describing the solution of the problem faced by the teacher. The method used in this research was descriptive qualitative research which analyze in the data in the form of word. The researcher conducted in XII grade student of SMA Madina Citra Insani Samarinda which consist of 15 students. The method of collecting data were 1) Observation 2) Interveiw 3)Documentation. The result of the research that the teacher used the Direct Method. The material which is used in teaching-learning process of speaking skill was taken through videos . The media which is used by the teacher are Whiteboard, marker, LCD and Textbook. The teacher’s role were as organizer, as assessor, as motivator, as controller. The student’s role were as the performer, as listener, as the main subject of learning. The problem faced by the teacher were the different levels of students and arrange the time. The problems faced by the students were lack motivation, lack vocabulary, pronunciation, low- self confidence. The solutions of problems faced by the teacher were by increase low self-confidence, increasing vocabularly, need more motivation, pronunciation.
